About Me

I'm Mel, a mum of two and Canadian expat who's been living in beautiful Cornwall for the past six years. My own experiences with doulas during my births inspired me to pursue this work, as I saw how their knowledge, compassion, and unwavering support helped me navigate the unexpected and embrace my strength as a parent. I'm committed to providing the same level of personalised, empowering care.

I'm here to guide and support you every step of the way, offering a blend of expertise, empathy, and encouragement to help you create a birth and postpartum experience that's uniquely yours.

My Aim as your doula:

→ Ensure you’re thoroughly informed about your choices and encourages to make decisions that align with your values

→ Immerse you in an environment of attentive care, support, and empathy

→ Address your needs and concerns with compassion and consideration

As well as being Doula UK certified (taught by Kaz Woodbury), I am also a certified yoga instructor with seven years of experience teaching and specialised training in prenatal and postnatal yoga (with training from Sally Parkes). My approach to teaching yoga mirrors my philosophy as a doula—emphasising the importance of tuning into your body and nurturing your intuition.

However much we know about birth in general, we know nothing about a particular birth. We must let it unfold with its own uniqueness.”
